Meal was not of good quality in the restaurant - luke warm - steak altho asked to be well done was cremated Breakfast was god altho no scrambled egg or fruit salad Rooms could do with re-decorating
The hotel was in a great location for the aviva stadium and the price was very reasonable. The breakfast and dinner were lovely. Our room was a good size.
I didnt like the fact that the bar served the drinks in plastic cups rather than glasses and there were no stools in the bar to sit down on. We had a meal in the restaurant, however there were no waiters assigned to the table to take orders and if we needed a waiter we had to call them rather than them coming over to ask us were we ok for everything. We thought it was very unfair on the waiters when they were bringing out food to the restaurant as they had to hold the doors open themseves whilst trying to carry the food at the same time,it seemed very unsafe as they were coming in and out holding trays of hot food.
How close it was to the rds
Ideal location for aviva stadium good sized rooms
Noisy hotel. Door to the room had gab at the bottom so every sound/movement in corridoor could be heard, all through the night. Woke- up on a number of occasions! As the bar was open to the public hotel customers had to wait too long to be served a drink. On Sat night the que was 4 deep at the bar!
Hotel pub and shop attached.
Hairdyer didnt work
The location is perfect. And the food in the Dubliner bar was good.
The room was extremely hot, even with window open.
The reception area of this hotel is very impressive and the D4 coffee bar is excellent with super service from Alfreado the in house Barista. The room size was impressive but a little tatty and our friends complained that their room was too hot and they could not turn the heating down. The location is very good and it’s only a 10 minute walk into Dublin City centre. Ballsbridge is a lovely area and is well severed by all the transport links. We enjoyed the breakfast which cost 10 euro extra and had a wonderful 3 course dinner with a bottle of wine in the restaurant for 45 euro for 2 people. We stayed for 3 nights and paid £60 a night for a double room including the breakfast which was very good value for money.
geting out of it
Easy to find, great location for the Aviva Stadium, also Greyhound races. Only about 15 mins walk to the National Gallery and museums.
As other review writers noticed - looks ok reception/lounge area, but the room decor itself is a bit dated and looks tired.
The hotel is in perfect location for the Aviva Stadium and a bus also runs to the O2 from outside. The bar is very nice also which is always good.
No room service which was a dissappointment late at night. Lack of pillows in the room, minor thing but effects comfort a lot.
I loved the food and friendly atmosphere. I loved the peace and quiet in my room but also the business and bustle of the pub. I had a wonderful stay thanks so much
They have a supermarket in the building, so you don't always nicessarily have to eat out when you just want a cup of tea and light snack, you have tea making facilities in the room.
I was sleeping in a room beside the lifts and they were quite noisy at night and disturbed my sleep the 2 nights I was there but the bedrooms were fine. I mentioned it to the receptionist and they said they were going to have a look at it.
Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms. Good eating facilities. Near to the RDS and close to the city. Good transport links.
Two days of my stay was marred by uncontrolled and noisy small children running up and down the corridor outside my room late in the evening and early in the morning. There seemed to be no hotel policy to control unconsiderate guests and their children.
Location was very convenient. Accessible to the RDS where we were attending. Rooms confortable and sanitation excellent
The breakfast was too expensive if a full fry wasnt eaten. I feel that a cheaper option should be offered for Cereal tea and toast. If we stayed again I think we would get breakfast elsewhere
